Please help me for the love of God

I downloaded Poker Manager today and have spent about 5 hours trying to get it to work.

Postgreaql is downloaded. Hold em manager is downloaded.

When I get to the screen that says "Hold Em Manager needs to know where to find the database. Please enter in the details below and click on Connect"
I get the same error message which is that "A Connection to Postgresql could not be made. Would you like to have Hold Em Manager start the service?"

When I click Yes I get the message "Sorry, Hold em Manager was unable to start the service"

When I click OK I get the message "Hold Em Manager has started the service. Please try again."

PLEASE. HELP. ME. I have uninstalled and reinstalled countless times. I'm sure this is all crappy Windows Vistas thought but I haven't even been able to play today.

That worked perfectly but now my heads up display isn't functioning. Nothing happens when I pull up a table. As in there are no graphics on screen. Also I have never seen a HEM icon in my toolbar. I can see my tables on "All Active Players" but can't get any stats on the table itself.
