Default Help with Postgre plz - Install problem

    Hey Guys,

Sorry if this is posted anywhere, but I haven't seen anything like this.

Postgre is almost done installing, then roll back installation after it's almost 90% done and prompts me with the picture I have attached.

Once I look into the logfile, there is nothing in there.

Do you guys have any advice on what my next step of action is?

I'm running Windows XP SP3 on a Dell XPS 600.

    Thanks Guys,

    Matt

    1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel (if it appears there)
    2) manually delete or rename the Program Files\Postgresql folders
    3) run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator
    PHP Code:
    net user postgres /delete
    4) reboot.
    5) Install PostgreSQL 8.4, with your firewall uninstalled or turned off if windows firewall - http://www.enterprisedb.com/products...oad.do#windows

I did all of what you just instructed.

When I"m trying to install 8.4, I get a prompt that "libintl-8.dll" was not found and cannot connect.

    It installed everything though.

But when I try and get onto HEM, it won't connect even when HEM tries to do it itself.

It has the server name as "127.0.0.1" with post number "5432".

I opened that port on my computer and it's good to go.

my logins are fine but can't connect. Anything I can do from here?

Thank you - this is much appreciated.

    ..........
I am guessing you didnt run the installer as an administrator. Hoepfully this can help. Otherwise try reinstalling it as admin.
