Can I use external hard drive to use HEM1 from old computer to new one?

    Default Can I use external hard drive to use HEM1 from old computer to new one?

    Old computer died but i have the hard drive saved. Can I simply plug it in to new computer and use HEM1 like I always had?

    Only in theory.
    If you reinstall PostgreSQL to the same folder of the old harddisk.
    (and during the installation direct it to your old /data folder)

    (you'll have to use the same version of PostgreSQL you used before.
    So if you used 8.3--> reinstall 8.3
    8.4--> reinstall 8.4
