I have never used the vacuum process thru HM, but that is certainly excessive. The bigger your DB the longer it will take. When I vacuum my 300k hand DB thru PGAdmin it takes between 5 and 15 minutes at the most.

Here is how you do a manual vaccum - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm...aspx?faqid=163

Here is a great thread with other performance improvement tips. - http://64.77.69.66/forum/showthread.php?t=11194

Yes, the backup compresses a lot. My 2GB database compresses to ~140MB.

alright good to know... so that should be fine.... hoped to have more of these logfiles though... to save some more space...

does that mean i can delet the complet 19 gibgs of Data in the SQL folder... since i backed it up? in the 1,3 Gig Backup file? + Exportet the txt files...

I am quite sure the answer is yes... just trying to make sure...

Checked now how to dump and restore...

do i also need to do this... since i already backed it up?

1 log in as pmx - we'll do everything as pmx, superuser privileges are not needed.
2 pmx-database stop - we need to stop database before the next step, to capture consistent data.
3 cp -av ~pmx/../postgres /somewhere - this is the most important step of all, so you need to do it carefully. If anything goes wrong with the following steps, you'll always be able to recover your database from the backup we made by doing this recursive copy.

maybe didn't made my goal clear...
    1. delete the folder..
    2. Backup c: drive (remember HM Manger DB already backed up)
    3. put a new system on the c: drive
    4. reinstall SQL on Pokerharddrive....

should work or? (Should be back to the old 17 GB again or?)
