    Default Stop Service/Start Service: PostgreSQL

I've seen it recommended several times to execute PostgeSQL's "Stop service" followed by its "Start service". Couple questions:

    1. What does this accomplish?
    2. Should it ever be done with HEM running?
    3. Should it ever be done with HEM and a poker client running together?

I only stop mine when I'm going to defrag. You don't want to stop it when HM is running no. If you aren't using HM and just have your poker room open it won't matter. I can't think of a nother reason to stop it.

Yeah other than defragging its just a step we recommend for people having connection problems. Once you stop it youll have no access to the database until you restart it
