    How do you do this?
1: Go to "C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc" and open the "hosts" file with
    notepad
How do you find this? not in programs

Too late, been there done that and survived and the fix actually worked, needed to reboot twice.

Now i'm lost again at the create database page of the postgress, no clue where I'm at here, I'll probably call it a night and come back tomorrow, i'm too tired now.
    thnx

YOU NEED A TEAM VIEW w/MORNY
Doubt you need to create a new database.

I see the location in the first post was a temp file, can you try saving it in my documents or somewhere else, if it dosent give you the option then its a Vista problem i see occassionaly so id say your best bet would be to post the error on a PC forum and theyll help you solve it, i had it along time ago with my other PC and couldnt solve it but it seems to be a common Vista problem so googling the error or posting it on a PC forum should fix the problem

    Talking

    gd morning,

actually was a firefox problem for me, I went through explorer and had little trouble dloading?!

I used the windows patch in the postgress fix thread and that seems to have worked too.

So now when i open HM I get the settings for postgress, I'll check the newbieguide first before I ask or do anything more.

    Default Database control panel?

    PostgresSQL, i have v8.3
I had PT3 free trial once upon a time but AVG messed that up and it went in the trash, along with AVGFree, using avast free version now.

It's asking to set "PT3DB(unknown)" as the database default or create new database?

Doesn't seem to be anything in the Manager tutorial about these postgres settings?
