how would u set this up for a highend pc with 32gb ram and 6cores?

Also where does it say about opening HM with specific command to use more RAM for it?

If you install PostgreSQL 9.0, 9.2, 9.3, most versions logging by default is turned on in the PostgreSQL.config file.
Turn it off, other wise it will create lots of files in the data/pg_log folder.

32 GB RAM: you can set shared buffers to 1/4 of your available RAM, and effective cash size to 1/2 available RAM.
But most tests have shown any value over 1024 MB does NOT result in any performance increase.

Therefore in terms of 'tweaking', the changes you can make to PostgreSQL.config are the same for a system whether you have 8 GB RAM, or 32 GB. There is no way for PostgreSQL to suddenly use a lot more RAM.

I should work just fine... but.... I haven't tested if the backup/restore also works.
Officially only 8.4, and 9.0 are supported. (but many users use 8.2, 8.3 or 9.2).

    I currently use 9.3.

Don't use 9.1, that causes problems and also causes problems with PokerTracker.
8.2 is not supported anymore by PokerTracker.
