Default Does purging hand increase the performance of the HUD?

I have a gigantic DB and have zero use for the actual HHs from my mined hands. If I purge all the HHs while keeping the stats will this speed up the performance of my HUD? At the moment its lagging by about 5 hands. I'm already planning a vac.

    Thanks.

Yes it should do but id purge and then do a vacuum, doing a defrag can also help with large databases http://www.defraggler.com/

Does purging/vacumming make you lose your hands ...or? What is its purpose...

purging removes the hands from the database, youd usually do it with say hands that are too old to be reliable etc

Vacummming just tidies up the database and makes it run more efficently
