How to make a customized HUD profile the default profile

Is there a way to make a customized HUD profile the default profile?
I exported the customized profile and tried to import it as the default. But the HUD configurator doesn't care which profile I'm currently working on. It wants to replace the one I exported it from.
Any suggestions?

Edit: It would also suffice if I could use a customized profile on more than one site.

I simply manually changed the default HUD Config this last time I reformatted, and haven't bothered to make any new config's. Not sure if there is a way to do it like you want. Hopefully fabio knows and will be back on later.
