    Default HM2 to new Windows

I had to reinstall Windows and now when I try to open HM2 I get message saying "cannot connect to Postgre database server. My new Windows, HM2 and PostgreSQL are on the same hard disk. Windows and HM2 in same partion and Postgre another partion. How do I get it to work and my old database too?

Uninstall PostgreSQL & try the following steps:

    Code:
     1) Run cmd.exe as Admin (Start > Search 'cmd' > Right-Click > Run As Admin)
     2) in CMD window run (type the code then hit Enter key) following command:
     net user postgres /del
     3) Reboot PC
     4) after reboot open cmd.exe again & run following commands:
     net user postgres postgrespass /add
     net localgroup Administrators postgres /add
     net localgroup Users postgres /delete
     runas /user:postgres cmd.exe
When it asks about password please input postgrespass & don`t worry if you don`t see any new symbols\inputs in cmd window. If you did all steps right then you should get new cmd window for postgres user.

    5) Download PostgreSQL installer (http://get.enterprisedb.com/postgres...-1-windows.exe) & move (copy/paste) it from the \Downloads folder to C:\
    6) in new cmd window for postgres user run following commands:
    cd c:\
    start postgresql-8.4.22-1-windows.exe

Yes this works and HM2 opens but I don't see my database and my custom hud is missing too. I also get error when I try to install new HM2 update. It says: HM2 installation not found, please run full installer.

    Please install this version:

    http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...er_2_Setup.exe

    - After downloading, you should right-click the file, go to properties and click unblock.*
    * If you do not see an 'unblock' option you can ignore this step.
    - Then, right click the file and run as administrator.

Did you import your old database/hands? Did you import the HUD?

    Did you restore a backup?

    What exactly did you do?

Please see this FAQ to transfer/backup data - Hold'Em Manager 2 FAQs - Poker Software :: What Files Should I Backup to Protect my Holdem Manager?

This will ensure that you have your hand histories and HUD saved to import into a new computer, and as a backup to restore in case of an emergency. I recommend you do this at least once a month and keep the last 2 or 3 most recent backups (and your \HM2Archive folder) stored on an external drive and/or cloud storage site like dropbox or google drive.

I made clean install and I didin't find those hud preference files from those old HM folders. I think those have been overwrited at some point. I made new one which is quite good I think. I have all the prosessed hand histories in archive folder so I think I can import all that stuff to my new HM.

Yes, you have to create backups. We recommend backing up hand history files once a month and your HUD/popups every time you make a change. I use an external drive and keep my HUD on dropbox so I can download it on my laptop if I forget to back it up there.
