Hi, i just purchased a new computer. I took my hard drive from my old computer and use it as an external now. Where is my database located ? I installed holdem manager on my new computer and set up a new database.. not sure what to do next.

Thanks

Thats not how you should backup the database as it dosent work sometimes. Ideally if you have the hands archived to C:/HMarchive or another folder you specified then just import those hands if not you can try the following but like i said it dosent always work and you should backup your database by backing up and restoring http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=12 and also should export the hands in case something goes wrong http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=12

To do it with the copy and paste version follow this:

Ok in the PostgreSQL folder youll see a data folder, this is the only folder well need. This can be found at X:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\PostgreSQL8.3\Data

Then uninstall PostgreSQL 8.3 and it will leave the following folder X:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\PostgreSQL8.3\Data you need to copy all the files from the Dat folder on the disk to this location.

Then reinstall PostgreSQL 8.3 to the same location and during the installation when it asks for the username and password a 2nd time youll see an "Initialise Database Cluster" tickbox, untick this and finish the installation.

If it dosent work it wont connect to the databse when you try
