Haven't touched this computer in awhile, but looking to reimport hands into another one. My HEM is updated and it's possible that I created a new database in the past but have no clue how to access it. What should I do?

I have windows 7 and postgres is installed.

Thanks

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it. And reboot.

If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely

---

To access all the databases, run dbcontrolpanel.exe (=Database Management)--> Connect

Attempted a reinstall, forgot which password I used so attempted to change it with the instructions in the faq, but no go. Maybe I need to use the same version of postgres that I had installed previously? I'm attempting to install the latest one.

click on Start and go to Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt

* If you are on Vista, rightclick and choose "Run as Administrator".

A black box should appear. Type 'net user postgres /delete' (without the quotes) and press enter.

The user is now deleted and you can (re)install PostgreSQL.

And it will accept any password, use: postgrespass

Did you assign a new password? You need to use this one.
