HEM Replayer won't launch after the update. I've upgraded from 1.11.06g...

Same. The Replayer won't open when I double click on a hand.

When I started HM I got a popup that said:
Could not find the Config\HoldemManager.Config file. Make sure you are running Holdem Manager from the correct directory.

It seems that the updates that have trouble with HM are important. So windows automatically installs them when you start your PC again. No matter that you click in the settings "download but never install automatically" in windows update.

What do we do?

When tring to install the new patch i get few error msg.

1st:

2nd:
http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/5787/error3h.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/856/error3h.png/)

Does this mean my database has been deleted? I tried starting a new one and it works fine.

Update to: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/1.11.07_Windows7.exe

Run dbcontrolpanel.exe from the HoldemManager folder (=Database Management)--> Connect--> set your old database as default--> start HoldemManager

If you get the same error, reimport your hands into a new database.

Big_Mick

Ye i get the same error msg, so have i lost all my hands? I auto imported and its only imported 284 hands i played this morning.

edit: iv found my HM archive and imported from there. Will that be all of them?

I downloaded the fix for windows 7 and verified that dbcontrolpanel, hmhud, and holdemmanager.exe are configured to run as administrator.

HEM started the first time I tried, and when I started autoimport, that seemed to work, but HUD did not display on Minted (Everleaf).

I tried shutting down Minted and HEM, then started Carbon (Merge), but HEM would not restart and still does not restart after rebooting my PC. The "initializing database" message window displays but then HM silently goes away.

My holdemmanager database shows as the default in dbcontrolpanel.

When I run pgadmin, everything seems to be working as expected (although I'm no expert with postgreSQL, so what do I know). I used pgadmin to run database maintenance on the holdemmanger database and appearde to work the same as always.

The program then looks like it is starting up and then freezes and says not responding and shuts down.

if you close it and try to re-open, basically nothing happens.

to open the replayer again, you have to restart HEM

Hi all.. Sorry for my bad english, here's the thing:

On HM 1.11.06, after deleting the 4 updates and do all the things you told us to do... HM worked again.

So I tried to play on PS, I had to add again new folders for the auto import, he didn't keep the folder where my HH go... I opened a first table and the HUD worked.

So I opened 3 others tables, but didn't work on the others... So I tried to reboot HM and then it didn't work on any tables I opened... (only the HUD).

So... What should I really do now? Is it an upload, I mean should I uninstall the one I got and install the 07 or it's just an update?

Sorry for your time dudes but it's pretty difficult to understand everything in english and I don't want to mistake something!!

Run a manual Windows Update and install ALL updates.

Which Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Are the handhistories being saved? Open the handhistory folder to see if there are actually handhistories in there. Do they import into a new database?

Check your auto import folders.
And check your hud options--> player preferences--> use for tab settings.

Did you at some point reinstall HoldemManager using the full installer trying to get HoldemManager to work again? That will have reset all your settings to default, so you'll have to re-setup the import folders.

Yes HH's are saved in the correct folder.

Using W7 and Norton 360. Changed f/wall from AUTO to Allow for H Manager.
.exe files are started as administrator.

Also I noticed when i tried to start HM it flashed up on the screen and disappeared. I re ran the update 1.11.07a again and it loaded albiet with the same auto importing issues.

Sorry I'm not exactly tech savvy, so hopefully I'm not missing something obvious.

Hello.

I have a problem with my Holdem Manager. It does not want to start. OK, I will try to explain what I did step by step.

I had earlier version 1.11.05. Today I tried to start manager and it did not work (crashed with error message). So I checked this forum and read this thread from beginning to end, and then I installed newest patch from this last link on previous message. OK, then Holdem manager asked me to link my license to this new program or whatever. There was option to do that now or later. I did not want to do that right now, but it said I need to provide only my e-mail and it said “it will take just couple of seconds”. So I decided to do procedure. But then program asked me for my password of holdem manager account and of course, I did not know password and even I did not know what is holdem manager account and even if I had one, so it did not look to me “it will take only couple of seconds”, so I just closed window and I did not do registration. OK, so far so good. Program worked. I closed it, and later I tried to start it again, but now I cant start it anymore. When I click on my desktop shortcut, holdem manager starts, main window opens, but it closes immediately without any warning or anything. So I cant start it. Does this have anything to do with me not registering it? How do I register now?
Please, help me with this.

Maybe you can tell us what window update is causing problem and is it possible just to uninstall it and that way solve the problem. I would prefer that way because reading this forum it seems to me you did not manage to solve problem completely. This way I would be able to play today and tomorrow and wait for your final patch.
Maybe you can give short explanation how to uninstall problematic update for those of us little less experienced in windows and this technical stuff.

Hi.

I managed to solve problem. I uninstalled windows updates, and I figured out why my holdem manager did not want to start. It turned out that my antivirus program (Norton) just quarantined file with name Hmimport.exe. When I restored that file, my HM was working perfectly. It seems that Norton sees this file as a threat so it just removes it without notification and that’s why program does not want to start. So this is just for people who have same problem (HM opens main window and closes it immediately without warning).

Also I believe it could be solution to program not autoimporting. I managed to start HM only once after I installed patch and autoimport did not work. After that HM did not want to start. Solved both problems with telling Norton to restore file.
So I see here some people have similar problem. You should check in your antivirus program if it did quarantined file with name Hmimport.exe and if it did, you tell antivirus program to restore it.

Run dbcontrolpanel.exe.
Can you still connect to PostgreSQL?
If you can connect, create a new database.

If you can't connect:

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it. And reboot.

If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely

A couple days ago I ran into the windows update problem.
So I updated to the 1.11.07a version and everything looked fine.

But holdem manager is now missing more than 50% of my hands that I play...
I just did a session of 600-800 hands, but it only added 300 hands to my session stats. The missing hands are not added into the database at all as far as I can see. This is in a cash game session. Although I noticed that I couldn't find some hands I wanted to view of some tournaments I played yesterday evening. So it might have missed some tourney hands aswell.

Although the curious thing is that the HUD does seem to keep track of what happens correctly.... As does the table manager.

In the case of the tournaments I played 4 tables at the same time at max. And with the cash session I played 12 tables at the max.

Windows Resource Monitor suggests that none of my hardware components is running at 100% during play / import.

My database only contains 15.000 cash hands and 25.000 tourney hands.

- I checked filters. They are all cleared. And it is showing all hands everywere.
- I updated to the latest version (1.11.07a)
- re-installing Holdem Manager (updated to 1.11.07a)
- normally play with all sorts of back-ground stuff running, but tested with only HM + table ninja + PS running. Same results.

PC Specs:
- Win 7 Pro x64
- 8 GB ram
- i7 2600 (quad core with HT @ 4Ghz)
- 2 Velociraptors in raid 0 (10k rpm 300 GB each)

Do you have Norton? Which error do you get when you start HoldemManager?
If you have Norton add hmimport.exe to Norton's exceptions list and run the update again http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe .

But holdem manager is now missing more than 50% of my hands that I play...

Reimport the hands into a new database. Do ALL hands you played import?
(no import errors?)
set the date formatting of your computer to M/d/yyyy (and not to European default d/M/yyyy)

I've downloaded the Windows 7 Solution (1.11.07a) and my HEM still won't start. Upon opening the program, I get the following pop-up message, "Holdem Manager ismaking a large database update that will provide many new stats to the hud, player analysis and more. Please click ok and be patient - this could take a long time if you have a very large database."

I then click, "OK" and the program freezes. Any suggestions? I am not running Norton Anit-virus.

The program doesn't freeze - its just running the update process in the background.
Let it run until its completed. Depending on your database size this can take minutes to hours.

@spoutnic: 1.11.07a contains replayer and leakbuster fixes

Your error is showing 1.11.06g.
The update - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/1.11.07_Windows7.exe - is 1.11.07

Check if the update is being installed to the folder you actually have HoldemManager installed.

I have the same problem as Dodgyrocker on page 2 and 3. I get the same error message. I have installed all 3 patches and I have made sure that I have installed it to my HEM location.

Thanks in advance

OK. I have gone back and deleted the windows updates from http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/96111-windows-7-holdemmanager-stopped-working.html

The reason why I let windows reupdate those items is because I assumed these new patches would have rectified those earlier problems.

Will HEM be releasing a patch which will allow me to add these windows updates in the future?

Just installed the 1.11.07b and when i open HM error code " The following error occured when trying to open the database: Failed to establish a connection to 127.0.0.1" arrives.

What should i do?

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it. And reboot.

If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely
