yesterday upon loading my HEM, i was prompted w some sort of error message ( i forget exactly what it said) that gave me the option of quitting hem or trying to continue.i obviously clicked continue. HEM worked temporarily. upon maximizing the hem window this morning it appeared as though HEM was frozen, there was a blank gray screen and hem was unresponsive. upon restarting i was prompted w this error message " an error occurred while loading the pres files: root element is missing". hem will not even open now, wtf is wrong. and yes, ive already updated to Hm_1.11.06g.exe

Windows released a security update a couple of hours ago which caused Holdem Manager to stop working and were already looking into the issue and we will release an update as soon as possible to fix the issue.

In the meantime if you follow the instructions on this thread from this thread it should solve the problem temporarily: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/96111-windows-7-holdemmanager-stopped-working.html

Once we release 1.11.07 on the forums and website with the fix you will be able to reinstall the security updates again

Please delete the file prefs.xml which is located in the config subfolder of your Holdemmanager installation path.
Restart HM and the file will be generated again. You'll need to reconfigure your Hud settings after this.

Delete the prefs.xml file again (it's only one file)
Reinstall HoldemManager using the full installer @ http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe
followed by the 1.11.07a (a!) update http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

If you get the same error, install HoldemManager to a different folder.

there are two pref files present in my config folder. one being prefs.xml_1.04.13 and the second is prefs.xml_1.05.08. not sure if this is creating a problem?
