I already uninstalled everything related to the fix thread for the windows update problem now I am having this everytime I start holdem manager

"An error occurred while retrieving imported file list: An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by it's access permissions."

Has been working fine right up until today so doubt it's a firewall issue I've also looked around and tried some of the fixes I could find relating to this sort of problem suggestions?

If I reinstalled holdem manager what files would I need to keep to keep my hand history safe? And if I reinstalled postgres would I need to keep some files safe then also?

Which Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?
Windows 7 is updated to Service Pack 1.

Please update to the latest beta -
http://forums.holdemmanager.com/releases/95611-1-12-internal-version.html

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily .

First of all, we need to enable the option to see Hidden Files: How to see hidden files in Windows (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html)
http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/images/hidden.jpg
Problems Registering Holdem Manager:

Delete C:\ProgramData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic (XP Users can find the file at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\AppData\XHEO INC\SharedLicenses\HoldemManager.lic)

This is a hidden SYSTEM file. (not just a regular hidden file)

Also please try this:

1. Create a new text document in the Config folder and name it LicDebug
2. Open HM and register
3. Close HM and delete the LicDebug.txt file

It seems the problem was the firewall at least without it installed it works weird as I had it installed before the update issue and it worked fine I even readded it to all the exceptions before posting.

Anyways can you suggest a less trouble free one to use with holdem manager?
