View Full Version : If I delete hands, will I still see the stats in reports?

I'm really loving the reports but I'm having serious computer issues as my database is so huge now, it takes ages to do anything.

I've heard that if you delete hand histories, you can speed up the computer but you'll still see the players stats in the hud.

Would I also be able to run reports on these players and see their fold to c-bet% stats etc even though I've deleted their actual hand histories?

Would you think this would be the best way to go about speeding up my database?

Kind regards,

Komb

If you purge the hands the stats will stay in the database: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/197/Purge+Hands

Here are some maintenance tips: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/87/Database+Management

Thanks Nets...

I read that the actual hands do not stay in the database but the HUD stats will...

Even though I'm not that interested in actual hands, I'm really interested in is looking at report stats. Let's say I want to search to see if a player folds 40%+ on Ace high flops. If I have purged my hands, will I still be able to see these stats on the reports?

Yes you will.

However, your database consists of 100 tables.
The largest index contains the handhistories.
All other indexes contain your stats.

By purging the hands, only the index containing the handhistories is deleted.
And you will only lose the ability to replay the hand.

This will free up some space. If you run queries/reports, it doesn't necessarily speed up things, since most reports still need information to be pulled from the remaining 99 index tables.
