I went through this about 10 days ago...

Internet connection goes down (or turn laptop on at some place without WiFi) I have HEM running or try to open it to look at some hands and get this message : "Failed to establish a connection to 127.0.0.1"

10 days ago I went through a bunch of directions to add the software to Windows Defender and Firewall, re-start PostGreSQL and it was working fine again...

Last night again... same thing...

Are there any known problems/conflits between HEM and Vista (64bit version)??? Do I have to go through the same thing again???

Thanks for the help.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. A couple weeks ago I had this same problem, and then fixed it through typing a code in a document. Now I just woke up and have the same problem again.

Please attach the hosts file from C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc and then try to start the PostgreSQL service as shown in this FAQ http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm....aspx?faqid=34 then after a while it will fail and give an error please copy and paste this error and then go to Control panel > Admin Tools > Event Viewer > Windows Log > Application error and look near the top for an red error sign, click on this and view the details of the error and post it here aswell

error 1053:the service did not respond to start or control request in time.

%t FATAL: database files are incompatible with server %t DETAIL: The database cluster was initialized with HAVE_INT64_TIMESTAMP but the server was compiled without HAVE_INT64_TIMESTAMP. %t HINT: It looks like you need to recompile or initdb.

Ok from experience when you get the 1053 error as opposed to the "some services started and then stopped" error its usually not fixable, so If you have all your hands archived, delete the PostgreSQL folder in Program Files and do a fresh reinstall of PostgreSQL http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=176 and then import the archived hands into the new database.

Also its important when your follow that FAQ i linked to do it 100%, if you skip a step or half do something then it wont work, failing that the above seems like your only option

If it keeps coming back then youll need to consider changing your firewall/antivirus. Its an issue with one of those blocking PostgreSQL but PT uses PostgreSQL aswell so youll have the same issue there
