Last week my computer crashed when I made an automatic update of windows XP HE. I made a boot with a copy of windows XP Pro SP3 and formatted my c-directory. When I tried to install HM; there was this message: no secondary logon service found and I had to stop installing postgresSQL. I installed Pokerstrategy Elephant (same kind of databasemanager) where I could make a database.

When I try to open HM via this database this message appears. If i click continue, i can't import hands.

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.

EDIT: Noticed something different. Can you open the holdemmanager.config using notepad and change

&lt;setting name="CheckForUpdates">True

to

&lt;setting name="CheckForUpdates">False

and let me know if that resolves the problem.

Same kinda thing has been happening to me im running windows vista an have tried uninstalling everything and installing it again only to find the same response

forget about the above post got it sorted, just needed to include the zedgraph file i think anyway so i downloaded holdem manager again an restarted pc, seems to hav worked

Ok same thing happening to me except for its' when I got to setup my hud under player preferences. Nothing loads up, not even the default, and when I go to create new config this pops up..... I went and changed the true to false like roy said to do. But it's still not working...

Reboot your computer and
then please reinstall HM starting with a fresh installation of 1.08.04: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip - unzip the complete file to a temporary folder and start the installation from there.

After completion of this please update to 1.09. Beta 23a and make sure you choose the same installation path as for 1.08.04. http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Just downloaded my holdem manager yesterday and everything worked well...

Today i had a warning on from my antivirus wich i healed (now i know it a false positive), then HM didnt started again.
I reinstalled it, restarted and reintalled, tried everything and cant make it to work, and as im in trial now, ill lose some time from it (dont wory, im buying after trial expire).

1) Clear your web cache, and download the beta update again, with another browser if possible.
2) Right-Click > Save Link As to save it to a different folder.
3) Reboot, and run the installer first thing.
4) Make sure the update is installing to the proper \holdem manager folder


If that doesnt work, uninstall HEM and your antivirus with revo.

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

Turn off Windows Firewall for installing HM and PostgreSQL. You must also add exceptions to the Windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files mentioned earlier.
2) Uninstall HM with www.revouninstaller.com using the Deep setting.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, choose the Select All > Delete buttons to remove any registry entries and leftover files.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
6) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe
7) Test if it for a while and see if it work
8) Close down Holdem Manager and rename the current, working \config folder to \config_original. Now copy your \config folder from step 1 and paste it to your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\ fodler, to replace the one you just renamed.
9) Test if it works again for a while
10) If your old config folder causes problems, you can paste the contents of the \config_original folder back in.
11) Now you can import any notes and hud configs.

Hi I'm getting the following error on startup after upgrading to 1.09 from 1.09 beta 30. Also I get the same error with the new 1.1 beta. If I run a patch to revert to 1.09 beta 30 or an early version, the error goes away. I get the same error whether I do a fresh install or upgrade using a patch. Running Windows XP.

if anybody else finds this problem recurring after the prescribed reinstall, it could be a problem with Microsoft .NET framework being corrupted/damaged. I reinstalled .NET 2.0 and 3.5 SP1 framework (twice) before the problem was finally resolved

Make sure windows is fully updated and change your Windows Control Panel > Regional Settings Format to English (USA).

If using xp or vista try a dotnet cleanup:

Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework:

3) Go to the Compatibility Tab and select "Run this program as an Administrator".
4) Do the same for HMHud.exe and DBControlPanel.exe


If none of that helps, I would suggest a clean reinstall:

1) Export any custom HUD configs individually, make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files. If you have custom filters/reports/stats, just copy the entire \holdem manager folder before uninstalling.
2) Uninstall HM with Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs easily (http://www.revouninstaller.com) using the Deep setting. You do not need to uninstall PostgreSQL.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, remove any registry entries and leftover files.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe. You should un-check the PostgreSQL Option when running the combo installer.
6) Test if it for a while and see if it works
