Since todays automatic update for Windows 7, when opening Holdem Manager, the import tabs have been replaced by a small box which gives me 3 options 'create a new custom game' , 'go to home page', 'go to previous game', then when I try to click on another tab I get this message:

unhandled exception has occired in your application. if you click continue the application will ignore this arror and attempt to continue. if you click quit the application will close immediately

invalid access to memory location (exception from hresut:0x800703e6)

When I click on 'details', this pops up.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I have no idea what this is. I searched for some threads with 'unhandled exception has occired in your application' as a title but couldn't figure out how to solve this issue.

I have been having this same problem and just ran all of the applications as administrator as you suggested, i then downloaded the newest version and installed it. when i try to start HEM now i get this popup

An error occurred while updating your DB (CompiledPlayerResults Phase 2): Could not find a part of the path C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\Databa seUpdateLog.txt
Please close down any programs accessing the database and relaunch Hold em Manager.

I click ok and then this error pops up.

The following error occurred when trying to open the database: Could not find a part of the path C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\Databa seUpdateLog.txt

then i click ok and HEM starts, when i click anything i get the initial error about invalid access.

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated

I am running norton firewall and antivirus and I have allowed hold em manager and am still having the problem

I have the same problem, UAC is turned off, everything is run as administrator, I don't use a firewall, Service pack 1 is installed. I updated to 1.11.07 internal 4 and still get the same error.
I reinstalled and updated multiple times.

Uh, just found the other thread http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/95981-hresult-0x800703e6-2.html , disregard this.

Which Operating System are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily. (so also turn on Windows Firewall to set the exception to it)

I'm having the exact same problem as the OP. My HEM has always been set to run as admin, firewall allowed, UAC off etc etc. The simple fact is that todays Windows 7 updates have screwed with things.

Manually create the missing directory C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager should fix it
