i am getting the following message when opening HEM.

after i click on OK, HEM opens and then instantly closes.

please advise.

Looks like your database has become corrupt

Please export your hands from the old database http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173 then create a new database http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=146 and reimport the hands into the new database

given that HEM instantly closes once i click on ok, i can not access the database control panel to export/create a new database.

FYI - i am running 1.08 Beta 26.

This problem occurred when I recently went to the DB control panel to switch DB's.

You can backup the database via PGdmin but in this case thats no good because the database is corrupt and it would be just cloning the corrupted database. So create a new database and reimport your archived hands which should be stored in C:/HMarchive and if not theyll be in another archive folder you picked yourself

i was able to backup and run the db on my laptop but i still can NOT access HEM on my desktop and go to the DB control panel to create a new DB.

when i click on the ok on the error, HEM opens for a split second and then instantly closes.

Go to C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager folder and open the DBcontrolPanel.exe file and it will let you create a new database before you open HM
