I've been trying to install HEM on my laptop. It installs normally and registration SEEMS to work ok, but for some reason every time I restart HEM it asks me to register it again...

Yesterday I was able to install and use it and it worked, but now when I tried to start HEM it asked for activation. Every time I try to activate it, it says that activation was successfull, but the next time I start it, it asks for activation again. The worst thing about this is that it loses all the settings and custom HUD setups every time, so I can't just keep on registering every time I want to use HEM.

I have Windows Vista and I am running HEM as an administrator. With my #1 PC I never had any problems installing HEM.

---

I went through some logs, and logs/Serial.txt has my serial key saved... How come HEM still asks it every time?

Reg.txt said this:

Please see this FAQ http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=159 but id say its most likely to do with UAC not being disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73 so check that first

I have already done that and it didn't help.

I have the same problem.
Everytime I start HEM, it asks for online registration.
After I've clicked activate online now, it says the activation was successfull.
But the next time I start HEM, it says the activation has not been completed and asks for online registration again.

I'm running HEM as administrator on Windows XP Pro and have followed all the advice you gave in this thread but it doesn't work.

In XP

1) In windows explorer click on the Tools Menu and selection Options and then go to step 2 below

2) Click View Tab
3) Uncheck the “Hide protected operating system files” and then press ok
3a) Also look for hidden files in that section and make sure its showing hidden files too
4) Look in your Holdem Manager folder and you should see a file named holdemmanager.exe.ldat – delete it
5) Relaunch HM

If it still perists completely uninstall your firewall and reboot and try

Let me know if that sorts the problem

Thanks for the advice. I've deleted the holdemmanager.exe.ldat, completely disabled the XP firewall using XP-AntiSpy and rebooted.
Unfortunately that didn't change anything, the problem persists.
Further, HEM creates a new holdemmanager.exe.ldat everytime I click on activate online now.

Hi, unfortunately we haven't found a solution to my problem yet.
I'm getting a little nervous because my HEM says I have only 9 days left for activation.
I play poker for a living and really need this software to work, I would hate having to use my old Pokeroffice instead.
Thus I'd be thankful for a quick solution to the problem.

Sorry for the delay, this one must have slipped through, ill remind Roy now

Sorry for the delay, this problem usually is fixed by one of two things - in this case it seems like it is most likely the 2nd one. When you find this ldat file do not delete it, instead follow the instructions below

If your software appears to be licensed but every time you launch it you are required to re-enter your code and you you are using Vista then check to see if you have UAC enabled in Control Panel - Users. If it is enabled then please try turning it off.

If that does not appear to be the issue then after successfully launching Holdem Manager, close it down and look in your Holdem Manager folder for a file named holdemmanager.exe.ldat. Right click the file and go into properties and then make it hidden and read only. Then relaunch Holdem Manager and it should work without needing to be re-registered again.

since updating from 1.08.beta22 to 1.08.04 I have the same problem, having to activate everytime is start HM on pc#1

but I cannot find a file named: holdemmanager.exe.ldat.
I set the map folders to show hidden files, I've tried the search function
buy it looks like the file does not exist.

I've also updated on mij notebook, but from an other beta version
and there it works fine
