Hi there,

I have 2 hard drives on my XP computer.

Drive #1 is full. It has my previous OS. It has my previous Postgres and HM.

I bought drive #2 new with lot of space. It has a fresh install of OS which I will be using from now on. It has fresh install of Postgres and HM.

I want to transfer the HM database from drive #1 to drive #2.

I am aware of the export HH and backup/restore option.

But since I have both HD on same computer, is there another way such as just copying over the database files in the postgres folder from drive #1 --> drive #2

I tried the backup/restore method.

However I get this message when restoring over and over again.

Finally the restore finishes with exit code 1 and asks me if I want to restore again.

When I open HM, it wont display my stats.

pg_restore: [archiver (db)] Error from TOC entry 1789; 1259 17422 INDEX postflopactions_idx1 postgres
pg_restore: [archiver (db)] could not execute query: ERROR: relation "postflopactions_idx1" already exists
Command was: CREATE INDEX postflopactions_idx1 ON postflopactions USING btree (compiledplayerresults_id, streetactiontype_id);

The easiest thing to do is to export the HH then create a new database and import them. The copy and paste method isnt very successfull

I can not use the export method because my drive 1 is very very full. There is no room to store the hand history files on drive 1. and I don't see a method to change the location of the exported hand history file to another drive.

Just uninstall HM, install it on the new drive and it will export the hands into HM on the new drive

when I installed the HM on the new drive. How will it even connect to the old databases on the old drive?

There is no database in the HM folder

So frustrating, just blew my livetime database, following your step by step guide:
http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=12

I keep getting exit code 1 while restoring. The original installation and DB is already erased, so all I have left to work with is the backup file.

Why don't you move your footnote about exporting HHs as a safety net at the beginning of the guide?
So maybe others could make use of it, *before* it's too late.

Nothing I can do now, but start a new poker life, right?

Did you archive your hands, if you did you could import from there

well, yeah, they are archived since 03/06/2009, which is a tiny bit of my hands, but at least something.

And again, please edit your FAQ, it's misleading, given the fact how many people are getting these exitcodes.
