Hi,

I've been trying to download HoldemManager today - version 1.07.
It tells me that I've successfully installed it. But when I try to run it, I get the windows (vista) error message saying that "Holdem Manager has stopped working".

I installed PostreSQL imeadiately prior to downloading HEM. I have no idea whether this is the source of the problem not, so I'm reluctant to go all through the postgreSQL stuff on the sticky.

Have you seen this problem before? What should I do?
Thanks,

Dave

Disable UAC and reboot http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73 then if the problem persists Please follow the instructions for uninstalling and reinstalling .net framework here: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=14

I tried to follow the instructions given, but my Control Panel looks different.

The guest one is even more different.

Any suggestions? I will almost certainly by HEM if I can get this sorted.

I uninstalled and reinstalled NET framework anyway. Still no joy. Still getting the same 'HEM has stopped working' error.

From experience if reinstalling .net framework dosent work the only thing that seems to fix it is to do a windows repair http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

I've got Vista, so that doesn't look very relevant to me.

I've turned off the UAC with this method.
http://blogs.msdn.com/tims/archive/2006/09/20/763275.aspx

I uninstalled NET framework and reinstalled version 3.5, and updated it with the available update. I rebooted afterwards.

It still doesn't work.

It sounds like you're running out of ideas too.
Any other suggestions?

Sorry missed the Nope, Vista comment, tought it was XP.

If youve Vista

Go to Control Panel > (left column) choose Classic View > User Accounts and the last option should say Turn User Account Control On or off

Turn this off and reboot

UAC control is already off. It didn't help.
