New database problem

The following error occurred when trying to initialize the Holdem Manager database. ERROR: XX000 checkpoint request failed.

It asked me to make a new database and now HEM won't start at all.

Does it allow you to backup your database via PGadmin http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=12

I tried both things that were suggested and they both didn't work...

Hmm looks like the database has become corrupt, you can try reinstalling PostgreSQL http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177 but i dont think it would work giving it wont let you backup or access now.

If it dosent work if you have your archived hands just reinstall a fresh version of PostgreSQL http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=176 after you backup the data folder and delete it then import the archived hands to get your stats back

I tried to reinstall postgresql-8.3 but I get this error message

"Windows Installer"
"This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the package vendor to verify that it is a valid Windows Installer package."

Please help I need to get my HEM working again ASAP! It continues to not work and it gets more and more frustrating every time.

okay I think I got the postgresql installed but then nothing happens still when I try and open HEM it says this. "A connection to the postgesql service could not be made would you like to have HEM attempt to start the service?" Then I click "Yes" and it says Sorry HEM could not start the service.

Yeah as i mentioned reinstalling probably wont work since the database is corrupt so please try the other option of doing a fresh install and importing your archived hands

Which part dont you know how tó do

To install PostgreSQL just delete the C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL folder (this is where your database is stored) then follow this

just reinstall a fresh version of PostgreSQL http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm...aspx?faqid=176

Then run HM go to the import TAB, select the folder where youve archived your hands to which is most likely C:/HMarchive ánd just import them HH

If you want to backup your old database you should make a backup of C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL before you start
