so HEM crashed today (like it does pretty often tbh) and usually it loads up fine after restarting but now i get the following error messages:

"an error occured while reading the config/holdemmanager.config file. Das Stammelement ist nicht vorhanden. (dont know how to properly translate, something about rootelement missing)
Holdem manager will now backup the old config file and create a new one for you."

after i get a microsoft.net framwork error message where i have to decide wehter to continue or leave and if i do continue HEM gets stuck validating (and says "unregistered version")

any thoughts on what to do?

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please update to the latest beta - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/releases/82571-1-11-07-pre-release.html

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

---

Run a Windows Update and install ALL updates.

If you get a similar error again, delete the holdemmanager.config file.

Hi,

have the same problem. After PC crashed i get that popup.

I have W7 running, and Gdata antivirus.

I updated latest version.

When i tried to run above mentioned files as admin it happend the following:

1. Holdemmanager.exe: it says "steuerelement kann nicht gefunden werden", and i have a notepad file holdemmanger.exe and holdemmanager.config file. Once i had problems with the replayer and was told to make some adjustments in one of these files, cant really recall wich one

2. HMHud: simply tells me its not working

3. dbcontrolpanel: connects me with postgres db window

Nothing is working, so what can i do? Thx

Hey, i got the same problem, and i was able to solve it with deleting the config file. But now all my settings are deleted, is it possible to get it back or do i have to make it all new?

You'll have to re-setup the settings.

@Andyb23 Turn off UAC: Turn off User Account Control: How to Disable and Turn Off UAC in Windows 7 « My Digital Life (http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/30/how-to-disable-and-turn-off-uac-in-windows-7/) And reboot.

Run a manual Windows Update and install ALL updates.
If that doesn't resolve it, reinstall HoldemManager using the full installer @ http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe
