View Full Version : crash during vacuum, now HM wont connect

please i need help i was doing a vacuum analysis on the database when my computer crashed now i get an error message when i try and open HM. error message says it failed to connect to xx.x.

i didn't alter any files, my pc crashed during vacuum

"then try to start the PostgreSQL service as shown in this FAQ"
ok its was already started so i closed and restared no problem

im running xp with HM 1.08 beta 6

I can still look at my database but not import

You didnt change anything but a windows update might have, i need to see this file first as if this is the issue getting you to try 100 other things wont work if that file was updated by Microsoft

Just to clarify that error is usually caused when PostgreSQL cant connect, is it now connecting to PostgreSQL or is that it just wont import files or is it the files import and the hud dosent show

i can see my database in HM but i get error messages and i cant import. Everything was good untill my pc crash during the vacuum process.

Add this at the end of the hosts file

::1 localhost

The save it and try again

If it dosent work follow the instructions i gave in the link to tell me what the error was in the event viewer

ok i added "::1 localhost" and saved but no error message.

I dont see an event viewer but i have a postmaster.pid file after the restart.

can you help over teamview if you have time?
