Hi,

I used the backup and restore program to transfer my databes to my laptop however when I restore there are no players in that new database. The restore process takes a while just as if it was doing something but when I open the database there is nothing in it, I can't choose any player to run reports on.

Thank you for the assistance

Was the backup created in the same version of PostgreSQL as the version you're restoring to?

8.3 is not compatible with 8.4 which is not compatible with 9.0
8.4.1 is compatible with 8.4.2, and any other 8.4.x.

If both were already the same version, try reimporting the original handhistories on the laptop into a new database.

Note: the 1.11.07 version (which will be released in 2 days) will have 80+ new HUD stats. If you want to use those new HUD stats you'll have to reimport the hands into a new database anyways. So this may be a good time to reimport the original handhistories on both computers.

Hmm I don't have access to my desktop at the moment but I'm guessing the laptop version is the older one as I've had it for a few years while the desktop is only 6 months old.

So is there any way to get around this without going back to the desktop (it's currently on another continent :)

Assuming it's PostgreSQL 8.3 that's installed on the desktop.

Also install SQL 8.3 on the laptop.
Then try restoring the database again.

Ok so where do I download PostgreSQL 8.3?

I found many different releases of 8.3 on their site and I have no idea which one I should install.

Any 8.3.x will do.
Latest version is 8.3.15: Download PostgreSQL | EnterpriseDB (http://www.enterprisedb.com/products-services-training/pgdownload)
