I get an error when importing the config located at http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3358:

Clicking continue keeps HEM open but the config doesn't show in the menu.

Quit and try to import again, same error happens. Table Manager is closed, importing HH is off and no poker sites are open. I am on Win XP using HEM 1.07 trial version. I can provide on request the details in that error message, it is very long.

Also, this is the first file I have attempted to import and have not attempted any others as of yet.

Works fine for me

Can you follow these instructions:

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder
2) Uninstall HM via the Control Panel
3) Go to Program Files and delete the RVG Software directory, or the equivalent for Vista
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
7) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Hm1.08Beta.exe

Close the table manager then import the file and see if it works now

I figured out what the problem was. I'm using Parallels Desktop 4.0 to run Windows on my Mac. I was downloading the config file to my Desktop (the default location), which is actually the Desktop on my Mac, but it's being shared by Windows. After going through the above steps you provided, I still had the same problem. Just on a hunch, I copied the file to "Administrator's Documents" and successfully imported the copied file from that directory.

I'm really not sure why HEM can't read the file from Desktop, as that is where HEM is successfully writing my archived hand histories.

Any ideas?

FWIW, I was able to recreate the problem with the file located at http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3416. It seems to be a problem only when saving to Desktop, as when I save to my home/Downloads, which is the Downloads folder in my home directory on my Mac (I'm running 10.5) it imports fine.

I have a separate problem, that's maybe not a problem, that doesn't relate to the above problem. When I import the HU config located at the above link, it asks me if I want to overwrite "Default_Preflop.pop". Do I press "Yes" or "No"? Will this affect my other imported configurations??

Thank you morny for your help.

Im not sure about the desktop bug thing, for the other option its basically saying there is a layout with the same name, do you want to overwrite it, if your not sure backup your own config before importing the new one just so you can revert if it overwrites one of your original configs
