Hello,
I am a registered user.
I've upgraded computer and now trying to install HM.
For some reasons I first installed HM and successfully activated, tried to run it - and of course got a database error. So I DLed Postgres setup file and executed it... since I didn't read a guide I messed installation of Postgres ( now I can't install Postgress correctly because it says that "postgres" account already exists (even after full uninstallation of Postgres, deleting Postgres folder and deleting all Postgres registry keys (which I was able to find of course)).

So 1) what I need to do now 2) how I can import my old database? I still have it at another harddrive.

Sorry for my poor English, desperately hoping to get help :(

Can you try to reinstall postgreSQL but using another user than "postgres", use "holdemmanager".

Long time ago I studied French at school, but currently I've almost forgot it :( my native language is Russian.

Will HM recognize a postgres account named "holdemmanager" instead of "postgres"?

"Invalid internal lookup failure:
No mapping between account names and security IDs was done"

I've changed account and superuser name to "holdemmanager", everything lse set according to guide. This error appeared at "creating user account" step, after copiyng files...

Eugene,

Had the same problem last week or so. Posted in this thread - hope it works!

http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5363&page=4&highlight=user+exists

"For anyone else that is having issues with the user postgres has already been created..and finds that nothing else works in this thread, go to your command function (for Vista users, type cmd in search) and type net user. This will show you which user groups are on your pc. We had tried to find postgres via user groups..and computer management but could not find it anywhere.

Net user will tell you if the user is on your machine. If it is, type the command: net user postgres /delete or any other usernames you might have tried. Go to the program files and ensure everything postgres is deleted and reboot. Reinstall and remember the default is NOT morny pc..it is whatever your account is (normally something like OWNER-PC) otherwise the lookup failure will occur.

We had to try another version in the end (one we had already tried) but, yeah it worked"

Please uninstall .net framework and reinstall it http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=14

Then Can you follow these instructions:

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder
2) Uninstall HM via the Control Panel
3) Go to Program Files and delete the RVG Software directory, or the equivalent for Vista
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
7) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Hm1.08Beta.exe
8) Test if it for a while and see if it work
9) Close down Holdem Manager and copy the config folder from step 1 and copy and overwrite it to your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder
10) Test if it works again for a while

Thank you, that worked. Also you probably need to alter FAQ answer a bit in XP 64 correct patch is: C:\Program Files (x86)\RVG Software\Holdem Manager (difference is (x86))

Thank you very much!!
