Hi,

I'm running Windows 2000 Professional on Parallels, since I'm a Mac user. I downloaded the latest release (1.11.06g), and installed.
When I do install it, it asks me username and password for postgres. I enter the default "postgres" and "postgrespass" and got the error: could not connect, see the FAQ, etc. etc.

The problem is that the .exe doesn't install postgre program at all.
I downloaded the latest version from their website (v 9.1 beta), but got another error:
"can't find HeapSetInformation" with some connection with "KERNEL32.dll".

On Mac I (don't) use PT3, which is the reason I'm doing this mess to install HEM. I'm saying this, because I don't know if this could be a problem with the "two" postgres, but I don't think, since Parallels creates a separate virtual machine.

Thank you in advance

First of all HoldemManager doesn't support Windows 2000.
I don't think it will run at all on Windows 2000.

I'm not sure, if PostgreSQL is also unsupported on Windows 2000.
The best thing you can try is install an old version of PostgreSQL like 8.2.x:
PostgreSQL: Choose a Mirror (http://wwwmaster.postgresql.org/download/mirrors-ftp/binary/v8.2.21/win32/postgresql-8.2.21-1.zip)

Oh, sick...

what if I run it on Windows XP? Is it better? Can I use latest release on it?

Yes... XP/Vista/Windows 7 will not be any problem.

For PostgreSQL default is 8.4, but you're also free to use 82./8.3/9.0
(just don't install 9.1 alpha just yet)
