This morning I had the same problem as many others with connecting to PostgreSQL, so I first went through FAQ ID # 34 (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34) and then through FAQ ID # 171 (http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=171) and followed every step.

Eveything went well until it came to the first step of installing PostgreSQL (Welcome to the PostgreSQL Installation Wizard). Everytime I tried to install PostgreSQL(I downloaded postgresql-8.3.6.zip) a message from Windows Installer poppep up "The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package". I tried to install other versions of PostgreSQL but got the same message.

Thanks in advance.

Aron

P.S. I don't have any anti-virus softwares or firewalls.

Generally, this is just because you need to extract the content of the archive before running the installation.
