I have used HM on my laptop, and when I tried to install it onto my desktop, I found that after downloading it and updating the .net and sql, that it won't run. I click on the shortcut created by the software, and it pops up the install screen for a second or two then it goes away. I can access the DB and the HUD makes the table manager pop up, but whenever I try to open HM, even through the DB, it doesn't start.

I am running Windows XP Home Edition.

Is it not minimized near the clock?

Can you try this version: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Hm1.08Beta.exe

Reboot you computer.

I tried installing the beta update. It didn't seem to fix the problem. I've un-installed and re-installed HM, .net, and Postgresql, then re-booted my computer about 5 times before posting on here. When I open it from the program files folder, it gives me the bust icon on the cursor, then nothing. when I click the shortcut, it as if I clicked the install button, but then goes away after the blue bar is fully loaded.

Can you try to unactivate your firewall/anti-virus to see if the issue comes from here.

I've tried doing that...to no avail.

Can you reinstall HM:

1) Make a backup of the "Config" folder in a safe location, this folder is in the RVG Software\Holdem Manager\ folder
2) Export your HUDs via "HUD Options => Player Preferences"
3) Uninstall HM via the Control Panel
4) Go to Program Files and delete the RVG Software directory, or the equivalent for Vista
5) Reboot your computer
6) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
7) Upgrade HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Hm1.08Beta.exe
8) Test if it works for a while and if it does proceed to step 9
9) Overwrite the backuped "holdemmanager.config" file in the new Config directory to recover your settings
10) Test if it works again for another while and if it does proceed to step 11
11) Import your HUDs via "HUD Options => Player Preferences"
12) Test if it works

Please follow the instructions for uninstalling and reinstalling .net framework here: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm....aspx?faqid=14

Also completely uninstall any 3rd party firewalls/antiviruses and anti spyware tools

If the problems persist email me and well do a teamviewer session
