Hi,

I've recently started using HM on a new computer. I imported my whole PostGRES database, everything worked fine for a while. However, for the last 5 days or so, there have been missing hands after every session - about 1/4 of the hands just never make their way into HM. I play on both FTP and PS, and the problem is associated with both sites, both losing a similar ratio of hands. For example, the session I just played was 1934 hands on FT, of which only 1549 made it to HM, and 976 on stars, of which only 760 showed up in HM.

I checked the handhistory folder locations and everything, and it is all fine, except for one small thing that may or may not matter - the Archive Folder for already processed handhistories led to a folder that I had never created on this computer, so I'm not sure where the hands were going, if anywhere. I just fixed this.

Thanks for the help.

Can you make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73 and then if the problem persists create a new database and see if it solves the issue http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=146

Well after a bit of searching I think that my problem was the same as this:

http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7757&highlight=computer

That issue did not seem to be resolved though.

But now, I can't even get HM to open! There is some sort of problem with PostgreSQL. I updated my windows XP earlier today, which may have caused this problem, or it may be from something else.

But anyways:

Now I get the error message:

The following error occurred when trying to open the database: Failed to establish a connection to '127.0.0.1'

I click OK, the Database Control Panel opens, I try to connect with all the correct info (server name 127.0.0.1, port 5432, login postgres, pw postgrespass). Clicking Connect gives the error: "A connection to PostgreSQL could not be made. Would you like to have Holdem Manager attempt to start the service?" Clicking Yes says "Holdem Manager has started the service. Please try again." but then I can't do anything further.

So what I did was open up pgAdmin III, and I compared it to how it looked on a friend's computer. The PostgreSQL databse server 8.3 (localhost:5432) is not running or connected, and when I try to connect it asks for a password, and regardless of what I put in it says:

"Server doesn't listen
The server doesn't accept connections: the connection library reports
could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "127.0.0.1" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?
..."

I'm not sure if or why this would be related to changes made to XP because the changes did not affect anything else negatively. I tried turning firewall off and that did not help.

Any help you could give me much appreciated.

I went through the steps here: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=171

reinstalled HM, and now everything works (after stopping and starting the service).

Hopefully i will get every hand, if not I will follow the steps you outlined in the other thread, and if I still have a problem i'll come back here.

Thanks
