I know that there are other threads on this and I have read through them. I am trying to install the PostgreSQL. When I try to extract the file to my desktop it does not work. I can extract the postgresql-8.2-int.msi to the desktop. When I try to install it, it says I should use the main MSI file to install PostgreSQL. When I try to extract the postgresql-8.2-.msi to the desktop nothing happens. What should I do? Thanks.

Try extracting it somewhere else like My Documents

Thanks for your reply. I saved it in another location and when I tried to open it I got this message: "The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." How do I fix this? Thanks

This is because you didnt extract it, you need to use a zip program to extract it before you can open it
