This comes from a total computer noob.

So I have a hem database of 2 million hands and it's starting to run pretty slow. I believe this database is located somewhere in my (C:) drive which is almost full and the whole computer is running slow. My (D:) drive has a lot of space. What do I need to do to be able to somehow move hands to D:, but still have the stats from those hands available when I play? Also I think I read somewhere that when your database gets too big it generally slows HEM down, do I need to make an entirely new database? How would this affect my old database and again could I use my old hands in my hud etc?

Thanks!

Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

-1 You can move your current database to D:/
Read: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/368/MoveDatabaseToAnotherHardDriveOrPartition

-2 Make sure you delete the content of the pg_log folder. Read: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/8423-want-stop-postgre-creating-those-large-log-files-heres-how.html

-3 Another option would be to reinstall PostgreSQL on drive D:/ and reimport all the hands from your archive folder: C:/HMArchive. Reimporting 2 million hands could take 2-10 hours.

Try (1) and (2) first. Read:
http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/11194-top-10-hem-performance-increase-tips.html

If you encounter any performance issue, consider to install PostgreSQL 9.0 to drive D: reimporting all the hands (3).

Note: If you ever imported any hands into HoldemManager 1.11.05 - 1.11.05d
you may would want to reimport all the hands into a new database, since those hands will have a EV bug. (fixed in 1.11.05e)
