Hi, i have a huge dp on party, about 22million hands. When i first started, i got import speeds of 150ish, then recently, it was about 50h/s, which is still fine.

All of a sudden, it dropped to about 15h/s, not sure why.

I cant vaccum via hem, so i have done it via postgres.

I also purged about 4mill hands, then vaccumed via postgres, but no change in import speed.

I have postgres on a separate disk (nothing else is really on it). It is a 500gig drive, and only 84 gig are used.

I regularly defrag the drive that postgres is on.

Can anyone advise what i can do to improve my import speeds? Not sure why everything is super super slow at the moment!

Do you stop the PostgreSQL service and close all running postgres.exe before defragging?

i have just defragged after rebooting, so no hem/postgres working.

import speed is 18h/s:mad:

Not sure what else i can do.

Ironically, i think the speed may have slowed after i purged a couple of million hands and then did a proper vacuum and defrag

Any ideas anyone?:D

I dont think there is anything you can do - the indexes are getting bigger and bigger due to the huge amount of hands

I understand that when things get bigger, it will be slower.

Strange thing is that my db is now smaller than it was a week ago (after the purging), but is now slower
