Hi,

I'm storing a lot of datamined hands in my database; currently (after 2 months) it's about 30GB fully vaccuumed, and it's annoying to back it up etc when it's this big. I'm wondering what you guys do for maintenance on such a large database; I know you can delete the hand history text to save space (can't find the link right now) but there's more you can do, like delete old info from players where I have enough sample on. What do you guys do to keep it managable?

Please see this for options to decrease the database size after purging http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?p=32648#post32648

Thanks, that was indeed the link I was searching for.

I'm also interested in other solutions (which might mean I lose data, that's okay) from other heavy dataminers.

Purging options might help

Delete HH but not stats: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=107

Delete them completely: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=152

You need to do the vacuum/indexing afterwards to reclaim the space freed up
