hi,
I've just bought holdem manager, but i can't install postgreSQL 8-3. The download is ok, unzipped ok, but the installation failed !!!
Always the same message, when initializing database cluster : "failed to run initdb : 1 ! please see the log file in C : ......"
my OS is Vista, UAC disabled.
I've read a lot of thread about that problem but i haven't found any solution.
Do you have any suggestion ?.........

Can you attach your holdemmanager.config file from C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder and ill see if theres anything there possibly causing issues, sometimes if youve the auto import folders setup incorrectly where its trying to import large files it shouldnt be it causes this

I've installed postgresql 5 or 6 times and suddently, without changing anything, everything was ok, no more problem withrunning initdb !!! i've used holdem manager for a few day... but now, it doesn't work any more.
i've tried to reinstalled postgre SQL but there is a new message just before the end of installation : "postgre SQL database failed to start. Verify that you have sufficent privileges to start sytem services. "
thanks for any suggestion...

Ive not seen that mesage before about priveleges although its usually something to do with UAC, can you make sure UAC is disabled and then reboot http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73
