I've had PostgreSQL installed on Windows Vista Ultimate for the last 1.5 years. I routinely have issues with it locking up. When this happens (once every day or so) I have to go into my services manager and restart the service for HEM to connect. (for the record this lockup issue happened with a competing product to HEM, so I know its not HEM itself)

I've decided it can't hurt to install a fresh copy of 8.3. What is the best way to go about this considering I am an absolute database newb. Should I just export me entire HEM database, uninstall 8.2 and install 8.3?

Where can I download 8.3? I see download for "source code", but I don't think thats a proper windows installer.

Has anyone had freezing issues with 8.3? Will upgrading to 8.3 probably solve my issues?

Thanks

Them issues are assosiated with both 8.2 and 8.3 so upgrading probably wont solve that.

This is a similar FAQ based on moving the databases to a different drive but the backup and export things you need to know apply:
