I am running windows on an iMAC under BootCamp.
The BootCamp partition is formatted as FAT-32.
While installing postgres sql I got an error message that
it expects the disk to be formated NTFS and that if it isn´t
you need to run ïnitdb.exe¨ first. But I can´t find this
anywhere....it is not included in the zip file for postgres sql on
rvgsoftware.

It is not practical for me to reformat my BootCamp volume
as NTFS. Can you give me a hand getting this installed on FAT?

Thanks,
Jonathan

This is interesting.
I downloaded the latest install package from postgresql.net
and installed it without a hitch. Two possibilities come to mind.
1. The latest installer of postgresql allows installation on FAT partitions
or
2. The installer automatically converted the partition to NTFS during
the installation process (?)
I don´t think it would do the later without some kind of notification.

In any case, I installed postgre sql on the FAT partition, installed HEM,
and everything appears to be working OK.

How can I tell if the partition is NTFS or FAT? And, given that it appears
to work ok, should I still go through the process in the link to convert
to NTFS? If I do, will I need to reinstall postgre sql and HEM?

I also replied to you on 2+2, i know personally ive tried this and it just wont let you install although that was some time ago on an old laptop, looks like theyve made it compatible in one of their newer versions
