hey, sorry if this has already been posted but had a quick look through and couldnt find anything, also in a rush to start grinding before work :)

holdem manager has been working fine up until today, and on opening this came up?

im abit confused by what has happened but it said there was an error in opening a file and it was going to back it up and create a new one? although everytime I click continue it just goes to the "validating unregistered software" opening page and ive been waiting around an hour now with no advance.

any help would be appreciated,

Reboot your computer and rename the file config\holdemmanager.config which is in a subfolder of your holdemmanager installation path.
Start HM and the file will be freshly generated.
You need to reconfigure your database and auto-import settings after this.

If you have older Windows version - it's anyway smth like this

Then find HM shortcut on desktop, right-click and select Show file location
This opens folder where HM is installed.
Go to Config folder, find a file named "Holdemmanager.config", press F2 and rename it.

ive done the first part but when i right click the shortcut there is no "show file location" option? just open,run as, email, pin to start menu, send to, cut copy etc etc??

found my way up to the renaming process, it says I cant include any /,\ etc? anything else I can put it in as?

sorry for my idiot ways, I re named the file holdemclickndrag and now when I open holdem manager it says it cannot find the config file. is there anything specific I need to change the name to?

All original hand histories are in c:/hmarchive

I have the same problem, the same message and i re-name the file to Holdemfoldem.config and when i start the HM i have the massage that the config file holdemmanager.config cant` be found, and then the HM stop working (windows is searching for solution) and nothing starts, pls help

Uninstall HM with Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs easily (http://www.revouninstaller.com) (using the hardest option).
Then install 1.11.06d again.

I uninstall the HM with the program u told me, than re-boot my computer, then download the program again install the program, re-boot the pc, and now i have the same problem, i receive the same long massage like that one on the first page of that topic, and if i change the config/holdemmanager.config to holdemfoldem.config i receive that the config file cant be found and "Hold`em Manager database Control Panel is stop working" Windows is searching for a solution...

Did you install the full installer or only the latest update?

Can you post a screenshot of the error message?

This is the first error i receive - then when i change the config/holdemmanager.config like it was said in that post before I have the following problem...

Please download this file and extract the content to a new folder on your Desktop: http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/font.zip
Then, copy all the files from there to C:\Windows\Fonts and overwrite the existing ones.

I've tried all of the above and can't get it to load at all - keep getting the error message in the OP.

The uninstaller software AVG said contained a known trojan!!??

I'm trying to load HEM onto my backup netbook - just had to reinstall it on my main machine with windows 7 and all was fine. My netbook is on XP though.

What is your problem exactly? What are you trying to uninstall/install and which error messages do you get?

Yes sorry, i realised my message was a bit garbled. I'll try and summarise in more detail. :o

My "main" computer was a bit shit, so I got a new one, which has Windows 7. Followed the instructions and HEM manager installed perfectly, first time, no problems. :)

In the past, I also use my wee netbook for poker when I'm away, and it had HEM on it, no problems. It had an issue with the hard drive so I reformatted it but didn't bother trying to reinstall HEM. After successfully doing it on my new machine I thought I'd try and do it on my Netbook too (which runs on XP). And it all seemed to go OK until I got the error message referred to in the first post in this thread.

I've followed all the subsequent fixes but none of them have worked.

In particular, when I tried to remove the programme using the REVO download prgramme suggested, AVG flashed up a warning saying that it (REVO) contained a Trojan. So I exited and didn't use it.

Does that help at all??? :confused:

Are you using any additional software beneath AVG on your netbook?

Your XP is uptodate - SVP 3 and all important windows updates installed?

Nope. I only use AVG and I think all the updates are in place. Don't worry about it I'm a bit busy at work so don't really have time to look into it. I'll probably reformat at some point in the future and try again.
