Hello,
i just installed the beta version of Windows 7 a few days ago. In overall im really happy with it, just HEM causes some Problems.
It seems that it is not possible to install Postgresql 8.2 or higher on Windows 7 because the Service will not start at all.
So after some researches, i went back to install Postgres 8.0 on my system. HEM works fine with it and i got much better import speeds now than before with my Vista Ultimate x64 System.

But there are still some problems. Before i deleted my Vista system i made a backup of my HM database. I used to run postgres 8.3 before.
So, i could import my old 8.3 database in my new system using the pgAdmin, but HM isnt able to import into it. I think this is caused by the different postgres versions.
The Error it gives me is:
"Player Hand Error: ERROR: 25P02: current transaction ist aborted, commands ignored until end of transaction block"

So i thought i could export all my 10 million hands from the old db and reimport them to my new db.

But the export also doesnt work for me. Here it gives me the error:
"Error reading data: ERROR: 54001: stack depth limit exceeded"

Any ideas how can still use my old db without reinstalling another system ?

Thanks in before

I have the same problem at the moment myself, unfortunately there isnt much you can do so i had to just reimport the archived hands, luckily enough i kept them, i tried tons of stuff and nothing worked im afraid.

palle, where did you find postgresql 8.0 for Windows? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks

Theres no problems were aware of with Windows 7, the OP problem was due to a corrupt database and he just happened to be using windows 7

Hi,

I've installed Postgres, HEM, Pokerstars and HEM latest patch (0.9).
HEM now says its version is 1.09 beta 37.
I've configured HEM to auto-import files from Pokerstar's hand history folder.
The files go from Pokerstar's hand history folder to HEM's processed hands folder, but nothing is shown in "Import progress", no errors are shown...

Can anyone give me a hand?

Please answer these questions - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=174

1) What version of Holdem Manager are you using?
It's Holdem Manager 1.09 beta 37

2) a. What poker site are you playing on and does the problem occur on more than one site?
I am only playing in Pokerstars

b. Which type of game(s) are you playing? NL, FL, Omaha, SnGs, MTT
I am playing at money tables 0.01-0.02 No Limit Holdem

c. Have you clicked on the Start Auto Import button?
Yes :)

3) Often times, it is one setting or one box that has not been selected that causes the problem. Please see our detailed FAQs on configuring Holdem Manager to work with select poker sites to make sure that your HUD is set up properly for your selected poker site.

I've seen that tutorial and I have configured HEM with Pokerstars

4) Check to see if the hand histories are showing up in the correct folder.
Hands from Pokerstars go to the folder I configured in Pokerstars.
When I press "Start auto import" in HEM, the hands go the processed hands folder I configured in HEM. However, they won't show up in reports and *no error is shown*; HEM says "Auto update did not find any files... Trying again in 5 seconds..."

5) So by now you should have confirmed in answering each question that you have setup the folders correctly and the hands are appearing in the correct folder.
The problem seems to be that hands are not being correctly processed by HEM...

5a) If the hand histories show up in the auto import folders, but they're not importing into the database, please create a new database and try importing some hands to test if it's a corrupt database.
AHA! This worked. But why in the hell was the original database corrupted ?! I've installed it from start (first instalation, and this is a new system - just installed it today at lunch)

hi
i have this problem to

Which problem? These errors? While doing what?

.....
The Error it gives me is:

.....
But the export also doesnt work for me. Here it gives me the error:
"Error reading data: ERROR: 54001: stack depth limit exceeded"

..

Those are signs of a corrupt DB.

Under Windows 7 you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe to be started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executable's and select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate.exe

*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=146
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=21

Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20754
