Hi,

Can HEM import from these files. If you request your last xxx hands from Stars, they drop you an email with those hands in. However when saving that as a txt file and attempting to import, HEM imports nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

Sample hand

It sounds like you're trying to import using auto import. If you are, it won't find the hh unless you drop the txt file in the folder you've set up for auto imports. C:\Program Files\PokerStars\HandHistory\username (if selected). So, one of two things you can do:

1) Go to: Options > Configure Auto Import Folders and just make a note which folder is used for auto imports (don't add or remove, just click close after taking mental note which folder it imports from) and just drop the txt file into that folder and now you can click "Start Auto Import" from the Import Tab.

2) Create a folder on your desktop (or where ever you like), drop the txt file into that folder, go to the Import Tab and select "Import From Folder" (you can also create the folder here, too) and select the folder you created and it will do a manual import from that folder only.

The nice thing about option two is HM remembers the folder you selected so for any future emailed hand histories, you can just save them as txt files in the folder you created and just click the import from folder option and it will already have that folder ready to go.

Hi qza,

Thank you for your reply.

I have tried the following (which I should have mentioned first and I apologise for not doing so).

I have tried dropping the txt file into the autoimport folder, tried Import From File to do it directly and also the Import From Folder when it was the only file in the folder.

Can you try? Just copy and paste my example and see if you can get HEM to import it? If you can we know that it is a local issue here (probably somewhere between the chair and the keyboard I would imagine!). If you can't - well maybe it is HEM? Is it maybe because it was a play money table (I only play SnGs for real money - just warming up before a tourney). Auto Import reports every hand as an error (just tried again for verification purposes).

Thanks again for looking.

The only thing I can think of is the brackets around the time stamp. I can't get it to import either.

Thanks anyway qza for having a look.

Morny? Roy? Mike? Anyone else care to have a stab as to why it doesn't work?

Cheers

Actually, I think it's just not formatted correctly. The stack sizes should be left justified and not in one big long line. Something like this:

PokerStars Game #24267593539: Tournament #13765221, Freeroll Hold'em No Limit - Level VI (100/200) - 2009/01/25 19:01:46 GMT [2009/01/25 14:01:46 ET] Table '134683221 71' 9-max Seat #5 is the button
Seat 1: bobby1952 (1055 in chips)
Seat 2: margeladze (6735 in chips)
Seat 3: sisklaya (1440 in chips)
Seat 4: nativeace08 (1170 in chips)
Seat 5: 99harvcar99 (1135 in chips)
Seat 6: Friendly (865 in chips)
Seat 7: dschanghustl (5630 in chips)
Seat 8: keepersp (6705 in chips)
Seat 9: knemc2000 (2570 in chips)

Maybe your email client is changing the formatting or something. I know freerolls work because I can import the supernova freerolls when I play them.

I'll try your formatting to see if that works. I don't think it is just the email client though - it won't autoimport from the ring games whilst it manages tourneys just fine.

But at least if I can whip up a macro to reconvert the email hand histories I can have some record.

Once again thanks qza for looking at this - I appreciate your help.
