View Full Version : Help! Everything was fine then all went wrong!

Was wondering if anyone could help. Purchased the small stakes version yesterday with the intention of upgrading as soon as I knew it all worked fine. Everything worked fine yesterday apart from a little issue with the HUD stats, they were sometimes appearing all over the place...
Anyway today HM stopped importing my hand histories. I went over all the basic problems and nothing changed. I eventually re installed and now it won't even load. It validates, says it's going to load the HH it has found, and then it quits!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can right click and drag the stats to the correct position.

Can you reinstall like that this time and tell me if it works:

1) Make a backup of "Config" in a safe location
2) Export your HUDs via "HUD Options => Player Preferences"
3) Uninstall HM via the Control Panel
4) Go to Program Files and delete the RVG Software directory, or the equivalent for Vista
5) Reboot your computer
6) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
7) Upload HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate1.07beta.exe
8) Test if it works
9) Overwrite the backuped "holdemmanager.config" file in the new Config directory to recover your settings
10) Test if it works
11) Import your HUDs via "HUD Options => Player Preferences"
12) Test if it works

Ok, can I do the first two things If I can't access HEM? Just obviously It doesn't even load so I can't acces Player Preferences etc.

As long as you make a backup of the config folder it should be fine, you can skip the other sections inside HM. The path to the config file is C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config

Ok I think I'm getting somewhere now. I did everything you said, I replaced the new config with the previous ones. Now the trial version does actually come up, but it's the trial version and does not accept my old serial number....

Is it a long time since you recieved the serial, it changed several months ago. If it was a long time ago then email support for the new code but the answer might be in this FAQ either http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=159

No I got the serial yesterday, okay I'll e mail for another.
Do you think the import problem will have been solved as well?

Well if you only got it yesterday then most likely its one of those solutions in the FAQ as Roy will just give you the same key again

For the import issues make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73 and if its still not working then answer these questions http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=174

Ok assuming youve tried the FAQ then contact support@holdemmanager.net and let him know youve tried it and it still wont work
