I have not been able to install postgresql on my computer. I think that it may be because I have not figured out how to disable user access on my computer. I have visited several websites and stuff trying to figure out how to do it and after several attempts have failed. I am trying to get it on my work computer which can be accessed by several different users and is on a work network etc... This may be the problem. Any suggestions? Going to control panel and user accounts etc does not have the option to disable. I have alo tried many more advanced ways of doing it through the "run" tool and that was unsucessfull as well. Please help.

That screeshot is tiny but UAC only applies to Vista and it looks like your running XP so you dont need to do any of that.

So what is the problem with postgresql, why cant you install it, do you get an error?

When I run postgres 8.3 and get to the installation wizard and then hit start i get this message: The installation package could not be opened, verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer program.
