View Full Version : HUD freezing/crashing 4 tabling Rush Poker

Hi,

HUD freezes(FTP client freezes until I kill HUD)/crashes a lot of times. I am using TableNinjaFT + HM tiled setup.
Most common freeze occurs when I click on a stat to get the popup details.
Sometimes HUD is working with no problems?!?:/

I reinstalled Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Holdem Manager, recreated DB nothing seems to help.

I've also had the FTP client die for me a few times this past week but didn't know what was to blame (playing standard tables sometimes and rush tables sometimes)

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for those files, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily

I have also had the HUD crash and the client work much slowly then before the update. I think it has something to do with the pre fetching option we had to turn on.

Try this one without prefetch: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/releases/63681-1-11-06d-pre-release.html

I have also been experiencing a lot of crashing issues since updating to newest version and activating prefetch (not sure if its the issue). It crashes aprox once or twice per 2h tournament.

I am now installing previous version .06d without prefetch as recommended by netsrak and I let you know if it solves crashing for now.

I have Win 7 ultimate 64bit with i5 dual core and 4gb ram if that is of any help.

Edit: With .06d I cant get hud stats to show unless I have "prefetch" checked. Also it crashes aswell every now and then.

64bit Windows 7 with microsofts own security essential.

And which SQL version are you using?
Update to SQL 8.4.7 from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org) and try reimporting your hands into a NEW database.

I checked my installed programs list and saw I've 9.0 installed and nothing else, how do I find out what version exactly (ie. to know whether I should download 9.0.3 from the site) and I'm assuming this shouldn't affect the db aversely in any way?

If you already have SQL 9.0.x it's fine.

Please schedule a remote support session with our support. Email support@holdemmanager.net, with a link to this thread and your forum name, so we can setup a Teamviewer (http://www.holdemmanager.net/teamviewer) session.

I've already done this for another issue and will see if my FTP client ever crashes again - note I'm not anto nor the OP

I had Postgre 8xx but I uninstalled it and installed 64bit 9.0.3 then created new database. Now only problem I have is to understand how to or what do you mean by "try reimporting your hands into a NEW database"?

Your HM is up and running with the new postgresql version?
Then you should have a new empty database.

Your old hands should in the archive folder (default c:\hmarchive). From there you can import them via import file or import from folder.

Got it, but another question has risen. I had many import errors and incomplete hands even though I did run it twice and now my graphs etc are incorrect. :(

Seems that disabling live tracking solved the issue for HUD crashing/freezing.

HUD Options -> Site Options -> Track Live Hands (Disable)

It would be nice if you guys can fix this, it is a nice feature.

Only 292 errors out of 400.000+ hands can be normal.

Read the file: RVG Software/HoldemManager/Importing/Logs/importerrors.txt to see which hands are causing the errors.

A little more feedback.

At the moment backup&restore is not working with Postgree 9, so be careful if you update.

[4.4.2011 15:39] error: Could not find PostgreSQL installation directory.

Our backup & restore utility will only work with SQL 8.4... and only if 8.4 is installed to its default installation folder.

You can however use pgadminIII with SQL 9.0 to backup/restore the database, read: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/72/Backup%26RestoreDatabase

Okey well I now have postgre 9.0.3 installed and hud still keeps crashing. I dont mind about those hands and tournaments that I couldn't import, its not a huge issue but that crashing is.

Its most probably hud because if I have hem open with auto import it doesn't crash, also an interesting point is that I feel like it crashes more if final table is close. I play mostly 400-500 ppl tournaments and it almost never crashes until there is <50 players left, at that point it crashes within 10-15min even if I restart it, could be my own fault illusion but thats how it feels.

Later tonight I try to disable live tracking as rs7158 recommended, Ive had it active since Ive updated hem.

I have been having the same issues:
I 4xtable rush and the hud is constantly crashing. What happens is that the tables freeze completely. I can get it back quick by going into task manager and "end process" for HMhud.exe, but if I relaunch hud it will be freezing again in a few minutes.

dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are all started as administrator. Exceptions in firewall added. I run 1.11.06c, and have track live hands and pre-fetch enabled. I run PostgreSQL 9.0.1, Vista 32, 4gb RAM.

Will now try disabling live hands, and also try the latest version of HEM. BRB.

Exactly same problem as I have. I disabled track live hands and played 4 tours, happy to say it didnt crash but I didnt make it very far so its not certain for me yet, altho it looks promising.

Yup, Ive been running 1.11.06c for 45 mins now with no problems, so it definitely seems as if live tracking was causing the trouble. I never really needed the live tracking so Im not fussed, but I guess it is good for the HEM guys to know.

Ye I just played a long period and no crashes so it must be "track live hands" if its enabled that causes it. I don't really need that feature so its not big of an issue to me.

But because Im such a noob with hem I now have one new issue. When final table approaches and tables get smaller (started as 9 handed but before final table its as short as 4 handed for short period of time) hud statistics get assigned to wrong players or some players statistics may not appear at all, again this is rush poker.

Disable: track live hands.

I updated to .06d and disabled live hands but still when tables are not full statistics are shown on a wrong player.
