Hi all,
i am trying to install postgres on my laptop and am almost to the end of it when it gives an error.
"the postgreSQL data directory must be on an NTFS formatted volume"
i have found out that my hard drive is in a FAT32 format.
is there any chance i can still install the postgreSQL or not?
it gives the error in the initialize database cluster page
thanks in advance

nobody with a clue?
can anyone tell me if it's even possible to get hold em manager and all other programs needed for it to work can even be properly installed on a FAT32 formatted hard disk on my laptop?
don't want to put alot of effort in it if it's doomed to fail
sincerely.

Hi Al1,
I have 2 partitions on my hard disk.
With some help of the pokernews.nl forum i have reformartted 1 partition (empty 1) to NTFS. I rebooted the computer and re installed the PostgreSQL program again. Somehow i still get the same error telling me PostgreSQL can't be installed on a FAT32 hard disk.
I have checked my format of that partition and it says it's formatted NTFS.
It is an Acer laptop with 2 partitions C: is named Acer (still FAT32)
D: is named Acerdata (reformatted NTFS)
Anybody with a clue?
Peter

Try following this FAQ to format it properly: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=71 other than that im not sure, maybe try a PC forum as they may have a better idea. Ive not heard of anyone else with this problem as that FAQ usually solves the problem

Hi morny,
I have been at it the whole afternoon and found a good link on a dutch PC forum on reformatting my hard drive. Took me a few hours to complete it correctly to NTFS, but after that i was able to install PostgreSQL and hold em manager fine.
Now i have been fiddling with the HUD and manager itself so i am very happy!
When the 2 week trial is over and i consider buying it how do i procede then?
Sincerely,
Peter

Just go to www.holdemmanager.net and it has instructions to buy it, youll recieve a code and as soon as you enter it youll unlock the full version and you can continue to use it
