hi,

already for two year i encounter the same problem once and a while. i try to start holdemmanager and i am being told i have to activate my license before being able to continue. the last 4 times eventually some troubleshooting resolved the problem. stop/start the server PSQL, delete the file postmaster.did in holdemmanager and so on. the last time this happened was january 3th. but yesterday the same problem arised and none of these measurements helped and i emailed support and they didnt know anything else but starting a new database, implying i would lose my old database.

i am very bad with computers and technic in general, but please help me.

This is usually a firewall or windows update issue.

First try to reboot.

If no help, try this:

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Stop Service

Start > Programs > PostgreSQL > 8.x > Start Service

If that doesnt help delete the \postgresql\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file, if you see it. And reboot.


If that doesn't help you will have to reinstall PostgreSQL completely.

Just reinstall PostgreSQL with the installer from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org)
(reinstalling SQL won't affect your old database)
