The secondary logon service is a standard windows service which is available on every windows computer. In the latest versions it is not started automatically. You need to start it via control panel > administrative tools > services. Starting it once should insure it works in the future also.

If during the installation, it doesn't accept the password 'postgrespass', delete the postgres user first.

click on Start and go to Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt

* If you are on Vista, rightclick and choose "Run as Administrator".

A black box should appear. Type 'net user postgres /delele' (without the quotes) and press enter.

The user is now deleted and you can (re)install PostgreSQL.

I shall begin anew!
Holdem manager I downloaded, I launched the installation and arrived near the end of the download, an error message that struck me: Could not install postgreSQL sorry
while on my old pc it is installed without a problem!
My pc uses window7
There is little to be an anti virus or by fire off before the installation is done correctly allocate?
How else can I do to install postgreSQL holdem and separately?
When I want to install postgreSQL separately it asks for a password that I did not!
Can you explain in details when you reply because I am no computer!
Thank you

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Any of those free Norton, Mcaffee, Comodo, etc, 'internet security' bundles will not work with holdem manager.

Please do the following steps, so we can get your computer to a state that we know will work with Holdem Manager:

1) Uninstall any 3rd party security software bundles.
2) Reboot your computer
3) Please install the latest version: http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/HmBetaUpdate.exe
4) Enable Windows Firewall's recommended settings through your Control Panel.
5) Install Microsoft Security Essentials for antivirus/malware protection and update it - http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Make sure windows is fully updated and change your Windows Control Panel > Regional Settings Format to English (USA).

Disable UAC - Disable User Account Control (UAC) the Easy Way on Win 7 or Vista - How-To Geek (http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-user-account-control-uac-the-easy-way-on-windows-vista/)

Restart your PC.

*Please update to the latest beta - http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/HmBetaUpdate.exe

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.
2) Use our combo installer to reinstall PostgreSQL. Make sure you un-check Holdem Manager during installation. http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe

If that installer fails to install PostgreSQL, please reinstall PostgreSQL using the following instructions:

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.
2) run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator

net user postgres /delete
4) reboot.
5) Install PostgreSQL 8.3.9 from this link - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Postgres_8.3.9-v1.0.7.exe

If none of that works, Please email me at fozzy@holdemmanager.net, with a link to this thread, and your forum name, so we can schedule a Teamviewer session. Download the Teamviewer Quick Support Module - http://www.holdemmanager.com/teamviewer Please let me know what time zone you are in and what time/days are convenient for you.
