Hi,
Suddenly I can not start it any more.
I get the following messages:

Holdem Manager has determined that you are running Microsoft Vista. In order to have Holdem Manager run well you should disable User Access Control in your Control Panel - Users section. This is needed in order to properly install Postgre.
Postgre was properly installed (HM was properly running before, and also I've disable User Access Control)
The following error ocurred when trying to opern the database: Failed to establish a connection to '127.0.0.1'
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit the application will close inmediately.
Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config\HoldemManager.Config is denied.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Connect to PostrgreSQL (server name, port number, postgres, postgresspass). I push here Connect

A connection to PostgreSQL could not be made. Would you like to Have Holdem Manager attempt to start the service? I push Yes.

Holdem Manager was unable to start the service

It looks like some files are locked, have you tried rebooting? If that dosent work can you try backing up the config folder uninstalling HM, deleting the RVGSoftware folder in C:\Program Files and then install the full version from www.holdemmanager.net and then see if it works. You can then restore the config folder however if the problem returns it might be something faulty in the config files so you may need to delete these files and start from scratch

OK,
I've re-installed the product (didn't copied any configuration files from the old version to the new ones yet), and I have these two problems now:
1) When I run it from the user that has administrator privileges, it says it can not start postgreSQL (it was installed properly and running from the previous installation). It says HM is going to try to start it, but it can not start it and get back to 1)
2) When I run it from my normal user (not Vista administrator) the product doesn't start.
TIA & Regards ....

When I go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools to restart postgreSQL, I get the same error other users were getting:
Error 1053: The service didn't respond correctly to the starting command
TIA & Regards ...

Rebooted, deleted the file postmaster.pid and now PostgreSQL started.
But when I run HoldemManager, it pops up the "Connect to PostgreSQL" window, and when I select Connect, I get the message:
Connection Error: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config\HoldemManager.Config' is denied.
Help me please.

Did you do the instructions where you reinstall HM and delete the RVGSoftware folder? This is where that file is that it says is locked. Other that it looks like something is blocking access possibly an antivirus or firewall so try uninstalling the firewalls/antivirus where possible and for all the ones that cant be uninstalled then make sure that file and the other HM exe files are added to exceptions

Yes, I followed instructions (uninstall product + delete directory and files) before I re-installed the product.
TIA & Regards ...

As you suspected the HoldemManager.Config file, I've copied the file to a temporary directory, deleted the file, restarted the computer and copied the file again.
The I run HoldemManager from the admin account and everything run ok.
Now I run it as usually from the normal user account and I get plenty of errors:
1) Error creating Stat Ranges.xml file: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config\StatRanges.xml' is denied.
2) Unhandled exception has occurred in your aplication ....
Acces to the path 'C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config\NL6Max.Stat.Trigger' is denied.

OK, now is fixed, this is what I did (I explain it as it seems to be an unconventional thing).
I've enabled User Access Control as it was in my previous installation.
Then I've noticed that with User Access Control enabled instead of disabled all the three programas (HM, HUD, DBxxx) now don't have any more grayed the option to run as administrator.
There are all run as administrator and HM working again.
Thanks
